Laser-tech rash guard: a world’s first by LUTA!

It’s not often a brand can offer a product that is the only one of its kind in the world but we at LUTA are extremely proud to have created the first ever seamless rash guard. We understand that chafing and irritation can be a huge gripe for grapplers and so thought we could find a solution by taking away the often-problematic stitches that hold the rash guard together. The precision laser cut panels are ultrasonically welded for zero friction even in combat situations.

As Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Lucio ‘Lagarto’ Rodrigues notes, “it’s really comfortable, especially around the shoulders because the seams are laser-bonded so you don’t even feel them.” This is the ‘second-skin’ effect that we were looking for when designing the garment. The primary purpose of a great rash guard is to protect the athlete wearing it and not inhibit their performance so the lighter and sleeker it feels, the better. MMA fighter and coach Tam Khan agrees: “The top is brilliant. It fits well and is actually very comfortable given that a lot of the time with fight wear you find it can be very tight around the neck and back of the arms - It’s a great design.”

In fact, there is even more performance-centred technology used to boost the rash guard’s credentials: the super lightweight polyester and elastane knitted fabric (175g/m2) is breathable with a 4 way stretch for both compression and comfort; the under arm vents in antibacterial airtex provide additional ventilation keeping the garment fresher for longer; and the body fabric construction provides a cool touch effect and is also quick drying. And to top it all off, the rash guard comes in an ice-cool white that will definitely turn heads on the mat!
